| I set up crushed papers in a temporary sculpture outside the walls of the drawing shed where I work. I shot the papers as they decayed in the summer sun. Two full images of oubliette paintings in white oil and graphite dust. As if in a shadow cast by the outbliettes, a black pool contains, like mirrored clouds on a lake surface, a photographic aerial view of an Alaskan glacier (courtesy NOAA). Albedo is the phenomenon of reflected surface radiation from the planet back to the Sun. This image develops a subjective visualization of glacial melt. |
