| An attempt to account visually for a
temporal condition, or consciousness of a recurrence of debris flow
during the annual winter rains. I cued the top quadrant of the image
with a glimpse of the rincon coastline looking north/northwest from
La Conchita. The left quadrant is a compression showing groundcover
and wildflowers growing over the mudslide. To the right, a shimmering
blur as a cinematic suggestion of the past/future flows. Below,
a heavy black notches levels in cross section, imagining the depth
of the mud. The center torques from each quadrant twisting the banana
plants. |
