| SSGS GEOTHERMAL WINTER 2008 |
 |
 |
 |
 |
Site: SSGS (Salton Sea Geothermal
System): Shot in December 2007 near Niland, California. Method:
spatial practice reconnaissance. Tech: Canon HD video, output
to video still composite. Comment: As an associative image
the work imagines a clean energy rising from deep black volcanic
fissures in black rock (obsidian); or, contemplating a coal alternative.
Associated video: Salton Geothermal Winter (clip) forthcoming
next email. The cluster of geothermal plants tap deep wells
in the geothermal field along the San Andreas Fault. This
allow water heated by the earth's mantle to come to the surface
and to power electrical generators (source: CLUI)
