Soda Lake Drawings incorporates layers of documentary photographs, of abandoned
cars, household goods, rags and books, near the Elkhorn Road, together
with field notes and drawings on site at Soda Lake, a saline sink in the
Carrizo Plain. The fact that there is no exit for the water means that
the lake draws itself, draws into itself. I am drawing on the lake—mapping
the vectors of the blind channels.
