Exhibitions Sonic Residues, Curated by Christa Erickson, Margaret Schedel, and Zabet Patterson, SAC Gallery Exhibition, April 24 - May 12, 2008 Sonic Residues is concerned with sound as a medium of artistic expression encompassing sculpture, collage, drawing and sonic installation. This gallery show and concert presents a cross-section of contemporary sound art and computer music to the Stony Brook campus. Sonic Residues develops subtle and complex spaces of sonic experience, organized loosely around the theme of the remainders left by vibrations in time and space. It articulates a range of interfaces between individuals, collectives, environments and technologies of reproduction—from wire recorders to bent circuits to mobile telephones. |
