47REDS interactive animation project with texts from Invisible Cities by Italo Calvino /Christina McPhee 2001

47REDS is a project of monotype print-drawings, a series of 47 works on black paper with gel pen and the imprint, from the floor of the painting studio, of pigment powders fallen from large canvasses.  One drawing for each year of life. Residual reprocessing. 47 counts, 47 coups. 47 is a prime number. The singularity of a crisis, reverbations in 47 flights. Gel pen, the writing instrument of a child, a glitter pen.  The rough print caught up into black stock paper by a single smash to the worn oak slats of a floor in the Livestock Exchange Building in the stockyards in Kansas City.  47 steps in the yard. Prison of time or flight.  The time was counted around a prime.
